This rate will be automatically reflected on TOU customers' electricity bills for all three TOU periods, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and is intended to be in place until October 31, 2020.
The government intends to keep this relief in place through the end of June 2020, subject to necessary extensions and approvals to implement this initiative.
Industrial and commercial consumers will automatically see this relief reflected on their bills.

The Hydro Electric Commission of the Township of Atikokan was originally formed in 1956 when the Township of Atikokan purchased the distribution system from Ontario Hydro. Since then it has evolved into Atikokan Hydro Inc.
In 2000 Atikokan Hydro Inc became incorporated. The assets and operations of the former commission were transferred to the new corporation on October 31, 2002.
Distribution of Electricity
Atikokan Hydro Inc. will continue to be the distributor of electricity to all customers in our service area. We will continue to manage the distribution system in a manner to deliver safe reliable electricity to our customers.
Atikokan Hydro Inc. will trim or remove trees that may come in contact with electrical wires. If you have a tree that you are concerned about, come to the office and sign a waiver form. We will investigate the situation, and schedule the trimming / removal.

Bill 35 required all Municipal Electrical Utilities to become corporations under the Ontario Business Corporation Act. Atikokan Hydro Inc. is the OBCA company created to carry on the activities of the Local Distribution Company for the area previously serviced by Atikokan Hydro (The Hydro Electric Commission of the Township of Atikokan). The Township of Atikokan will remain the sole shareholder of Atikokan Hydro Inc.
